Medical Care Specialist

Job Summary:
Covenant Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting. As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with healthcare providers to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient conditions, take vital signs, and document information accurately.
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments, including phlebotomy, injections, and suturing.
- Administer medications as ordered, ensuring proper dosage and documentation.
- Train and orient new staff members as needed.
- Provide basic patient care, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
- Communicate test results and relay information to patients in a timely manner.
- Document all interventions, patient responses, and medication administration in the medical record.
- Promote patient wellness through education and communication of provider advice.
- Review patient phone calls and consult with providers regarding appointment urgency.
- Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of patient medical records.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to practice policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- One year of experience as a certified Medical Assistant from a recognized certifying organization.
- Cardiology experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be certified as a Medical Assistant from a recognized certifying organization.
- American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
