Role Summary
As a Human Resources Specialist at Mo' Bettahs, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the People Operations Department. Collaborating closely with the team, you will assist in various projects, manage documentation, and engage with leaders across the organization to uphold best practices in all HR functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal abilities, exceptional organizational skills, a compassionate demeanor, a friendly personality, and effective time management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update employee electronic records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and legal standards.
- Oversee HR databases, including processing new hire information, updating employee status changes, and documenting disciplinary actions.
- Provide administrative assistance to the HR team, managing HR-related documentation and compliance forms.
- Engage in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Occasionally assist with recruitment tasks, such as coordinating interview schedules with candidates and hiring managers.
- Support the planning of office events in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Assist with new store opening tasks, including setting up locations in HRIS and Payroll systems, establishing workers' compensation locations, and ordering employment law-related posters for each new site.
- Ensure HR onboarding documents are current in the applicant tracking system.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance support for in-store leadership teams, guided by the HR leader.
Qualifications:
- 2-3+ years of experience in Human Resources.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday in the designated office.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in administrative tasks.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
- Capability to create and utilize tools for planning, tracking progress, and achieving objectives.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Proficient problem solver with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Excellent time management and productivity skills.
- Strong commitment to company culture and values.
- Ownership mentality and accountability.
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Suite, including Teams.
- Experience with Outlook Calendar, MS Word, and Excel.
Working Conditions:
This position requires individuals to see, hear, and communicate effectively. Candidates must be able to ascend and descend stairs, sit and stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform bending, stooping, and kneeling tasks. There may be occasions requiring work outside in various weather conditions. Extended periods of computer use are expected, including screen viewing, mouse manipulation, and keyboard use. Travel may be required for business purposes. Candidates must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and report to work in a responsive and alert state.
