Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at the Port of Dover. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting our national infrastructure and ensuring the safety and security of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols across the site to identify and mitigate potential security threats
  • Perform thorough vehicle searches and personal body searches as required
  • Operate X-Ray and security equipment to detect and prevent security breaches
  • Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV systems to ensure prompt response to security incidents
  • Report suspicious activity to the Port of Dover Police and take control of any threatening behavior until external agencies arrive
  • Ensure continuous compliance with ISPS code requirements and maintain a high level of security awareness

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • SIA License (preferred) and driving license (desirable)
  • 5-year checkable employment history
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends
