The Registered Nurse is expected to execute all facets of the nursing process in accordance with the Professional Nursing Law. Key responsibilities encompass facilitation, communication, assessment, intervention, education, planning, and delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients, families, and significant others. This role involves providing both direct and indirect patient care while supervising others in delivering this care. Effective communication with multidisciplinary team members regarding changes in patient conditions or responses to treatment is essential. Additionally, the RN is capable of performing general nursing duties across various departments with appropriate guidance or supervision. Acting as a patient/customer advocate, the RN represents Redeemer Health by addressing the needs of patients and families throughout their hospital journey.
As a professional, the RN plays a vital role in mentoring new nursing staff and contributing to the ongoing development of the nursing profession.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Registered Nurse licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
BSN completed or to be completed within 3 years of hire
1 year of relevant nursing experience required for PRN
Specialty certification preferred
IV skills
BLS certification required
ACLS in specialty areas (L&D, ED, ICU, PACU, ACU, CVC – required within 6 months)
NRP (NICU, LDR, MIU, Nursery – required within 6 months)
PALS (ED, PACU required within 6 months)
Fetal monitor certification preferred for LDR (required within 1 to 2 years based on experience)
8 hours annual stroke education and NIH certification for 2 South RNs
4 hours annual stroke education for ED and ICCU RNs
Stroke education per unit protocol annually
Must be available for alternate shift work
Must meet satisfactory completion of orientation and competency validation within probationary period
