Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team at the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting behavioral neuroscience research centered on motivation, energy balance, affect arousal, as well as learning and memory using rodent models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Master behavioral, physiological, surgical, and neuroendocrine techniques essential to the examination of neuropeptide action across various nuclei of the brain in the regulation of energy balance.
  • Develop expertise in systems neuroscience of ingestive behavior, including imaging, snRNAseq analyses, and detailed pharmacological expertise.
  • Conduct research projects and analyze data to contribute to the understanding of motivation, energy balance, affect arousal, and learning and memory.
Requirements
  • M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree.
  • Strong background in behavioral neuroscience and research experience.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
