About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Ryder System. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and standard component inspections and repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
  • Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
  • Replace defective components as instructed.
  • Perform facility maintenance duties and interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
  • Basic tools, required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance.
  • Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
