Ryder System is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team. As a Senior Level Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical and electronic repairs on heavy duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer tools
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
- Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification or Post Secondary degree preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- All other certification as required by location required
