Key Responsibilities

The Community Engagement Coordinator will spearhead various programs and activities tailored to the interests of our Assisted Living and Independent Living residents. This role is essential in promoting wellness through engaging daily activities that cultivate a vibrant community.

Lead Community Programming

  • Collaborate with the Resident Engagement Director to design, organize, and schedule community events and activities.
  • Oversee Resident Engagement initiatives and participate in evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all activities, resident involvement, and feedback as mandated by state regulations.
  • Effectively promote the Engagement Calendar, ensuring timely updates and communication of daily events.
  • Assess community interests and develop programming that encourages participation, adapting as necessary.
  • Utilize the Company Program Guide Library for innovative program planning and execution.
  • Work alongside all Resident Engagement staff to ensure seamless program implementation across all service offerings.
  • Inspire and motivate residents to enhance program participation.

Support for New Residents

  • Welcome new residents with a focus on inclusion, engaging them in programs and connecting them with others who share similar interests.
  • Arrange tours of the fitness center and other amenities for new residents.
  • Conduct Atria Resident Discovery surveys for incoming residents.
  • Assist in the community's decor to align with First Impression Standards.

Memory Care Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Memory Care Resident Engagement team to plan and implement daily programs for the community.
  • Gather individual resident Life Story information and apply effective engagement techniques as needed.

Additional Duties

  • May be required to pursue third-party certifications, such as the Mayo Clinic Wellness Coach certification.
  • May involve driving a company vehicle to various destinations.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or a four-year college degree; or one to three years of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Full vaccination is required, with proof of vaccination at the time of hire.
  • Expertise in wellness, fitness, arts & humanities, or music therapy is preferred.
  • Certification from an NCAA-accredited organization, such as the American College of Sports Medicine, is desirable.
  • Experience working with elderly individuals or those with cognitive impairments is preferred.
  • Required certifications in accordance with current state regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively in both individual and small group settings.
  • Proficiency in technology, including computers (Word, Excel, email), tablets, and AV systems.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary, as driving responsibilities may be required.
  • Must comply with Atria's motor vehicle policy standards.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
