This is a dynamic and challenging role within the Fort Madison Community School District, reporting directly to the Transportation Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional secretarial support, coordinating transportation requests, and interacting positively with staff, students, and parents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Transportation Director, including scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping.
- Coordinate transportation logistics, including route planning, driver management, and vehicle maintenance.
- Assist with the development and implementation of transportation policies and procedures.
- Interact with staff, students, and parents to resolve transportation-related issues and concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or other district administrators.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, such as transportation, logistics, or administration.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, climb, or reach as needed.
