We are seeking a skilled Documentation Design Specialist to join our team at VanderHouwen in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design and technical writing, with a focus on creating high-quality user manuals and service literature.

The successful candidate will combine expertise in technical writing with creative design skills to produce comprehensive documentation that meets the needs of our clients. A bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Graphic Design, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 4 years of experience creating technical support documentation with significant graphic design responsibilities.

This role follows a hybrid work model, with the initial three months fully onsite in Portland. The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 per year, based on national averages for similar roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and edit comprehensive technical documentation, emphasizing user manuals and service guides with a focus on graphic design.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to gather accurate data, drawings, and specifications for documentation.
  • Design layouts and visuals using Adobe Suite to enhance the usability and clarity of technical materials.
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure all materials align with corporate identity and design standards.
