Position Title: Missile Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineer
SEG provides an engaging environment rich with opportunities for both technical and leadership advancement. In this position within the Aerospace Division, you will contribute to the development of trajectory models and representations of adversarial missile systems.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include...
Primary duties consist of:
- Crafting intelligence-driven analytical models and tools to assess the performance of threat ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and hypersonic vehicles.
- Developing modules for aerodynamics, mass properties, propulsion, guidance, navigation, and control inputs.
- Analyzing variations and uncertainties in missile performance.
- Simulating threat missile excursions and performing design trade studies.
- Producing and assessing digital trajectory data utilizing 6-DOF simulation methodologies.
- Documenting and presenting findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assisting ongoing efforts to establish a high-fidelity Six Degrees-of-Freedom (6-DOF) digital flight simulation environment.
- Engaging in research and enhancing toolsets to refine modeling techniques and improve existing processes.
Essential Skills You Should Possess...
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens eligible for a DoD Secret clearance.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering (advanced degrees are advantageous).
- At least 5 years of pertinent work experience.
- Expertise in the analysis and modeling of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and/or hypersonic systems, covering flight dynamics, vehicle performance characterization, propulsion system design, aerodynamics prediction, guidance, navigation, control, and flight test data analysis.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python programming languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the C++ programming language is beneficial.
- An active DoD Secret clearance is preferred.
