Job Summary
SEG is seeking a skilled Aerospace Engineer to join our threat missile modeling and simulation team. This position supports SEG's Aerospace Branch, which develops trajectory models and representations of adversary missile systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop intelligence-based analytical models and tools to characterize and analyze threat ballistic missile, cruise missile, and hypersonic vehicle performance
- Develop aerodynamics, mass properties, propulsion, guidance, navigation, and control inputs and modules
- Characterize missile performance variation and uncertainty
- Model threat missile excursions and execute design trade studies
- Generate and evaluate digital trajectory data using 6-DOF simulation tools
- Document and present work to internal and external customers
- Support ongoing activities in developing a high-fidelity Six Degrees-of-Freedom (6-DOF) digital flight simulation environment
- Perform research and augment toolsets to enhance modeling techniques and improve current processes
Requirements
- US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering (advanced degrees preferred)
- At least 5 years of work experience
- Experience and capability in analysis and modeling of ballistic missile, cruise missile, and/or hypersonic systems, including flight dynamics, vehicle performance characterization, propulsion system design, supersonic/hypersonic aerodynamics prediction, guidance, navigation, control, and flight test data analysis
- Familiarity with MATLAB and/or Python programming languages
- Ability to communicate well through written documentation and oral presentations
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with C++ programming language
- Active DoD Secret clearance
