Job Summary

Iberia Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Dietary team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and service in our food service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cafe and Doctor's Lounge Operations:
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of hot line items, including soups and other menu items.
    • Ensure proper temperature control and food safety protocols are followed at all times.
    • Monitor food production and inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies.
    • Develop and implement menu plans in collaboration with the inventory control supervisor.
  • Supervision of Cafe Staff:
    • Supervise and train cafe staff, including cashiers, grill cooks, and pizza prep staff.
    • Ensure all areas of the cafe are ready and zoned for service daily.
    • Monitor and maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness in all areas of the cafe.
  • Food Ordering and Inventory Management:
    • Use printed order guides to determine inventory needs and place orders with suppliers.
    • Manage inventory levels and ensure adequate supplies of all food and beverage items.
    • Organize and coordinate food deliveries and storage.
  • Catering Functions:
    • Plan and coordinate catering functions, including menu planning and food preparation.
    • Ensure all catering functions are executed to the highest level of quality and service.
Requirements
  • A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, with a focus on high-volume, complex food service operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
