About the Role

The Operational Risk Senior Analyst, Assistant Vice President is a seasoned professional role at Citigroup Inc. that requires in-depth disciplinary knowledge and expertise in operational risk management. This position contributes to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflows for the area or function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the application of operational risk policies, technology, and tools to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Provide governance and oversight, including technology operational risk and risk management.
  • Evaluate the control environment to ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Coordinate audits, examinations, and deliverable requirements from internal and external reviewers by supporting coordinating activities.
  • Ensure project completion, special assignments, and other ad hoc activities as required.
  • Ensure the Operations Team is in compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in operational risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment collaborating across diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding of operational risk and gap identification.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to present a compelling case to influence others where appropriate.
  • SCRA regulatory policies and procedures knowledge.
Education
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.

Candidate must have above-average proficiency with applications within Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., as well as exposure to front-to-back trade processing with an emphasis on settlement and post-settlement activities with an emphasis on reconciliations and reporting. Candidate should also be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of systemic flows and potential controls.
