Position Overview
Medline Industries is seeking a skilled Packaging Engineer to join our Kitting product division. This role is designed to support our packaging initiatives and will allow for a hybrid work arrangement. The Packaging Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various projects related to packaging, labeling, validation, and equipment solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in documenting and specifying packaging requirements and materials.
  • Coordinate the evaluation, testing, validation, and rollout of new packaging designs and labeling to fulfill Medline SPT and OEM specifications.
  • Provide oversight for mechanical and packaging systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they occur.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing packaging processes.
  • Document and carry out validation and verification processes to ensure designs meet established requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction in packaging operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, marketing, OEM, customers, and suppliers, to align on project plans, timelines, design/development, and feedback for improvements.
  • Organize resources effectively to ensure project milestones are achieved with high quality and within budget.
  • Maintain precise, compliant, and organized documentation to satisfy customer and regulatory requirements.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in packaging development.
Additional Skills
  • Excellent technical written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in material science or packaging engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in medical device packaging development within an ISO13485 environment.
  • Familiarity with software validations, labeling UDI compliance, and application of ISO 11607-1:2006- IE Packaging Plans.
  • Strong analytical and statistical analysis skills.
  • Proficient in applying Test Method Validations, Gauge R&R, DOE, FMEA, DMAIC, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies or similar.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with proficient writing skills in Spanish.
