We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance our quality initiatives.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will oversee the quality management process from initial development through to production launch and ongoing production phases, adhering to ISO/IATF 16949 quality standards. This role requires a technical leader who will evaluate the performance of the quality management system and identify areas for improvement throughout the operational process. A commitment to excellence, effective training abilities, and strong communication skills are essential. Additionally, the individual must possess robust leadership capabilities and extensive knowledge in the metal stamping and fabrication sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage PPAPs, FAIs, Control Plans, Process Capability Studies, GR&R, and FMEAs as part of APQP and NPI processes.
  • Develop and implement inspection procedures and plans.
  • Act as the primary contact for customers regarding quality-related issues.
  • Address quality concerns communicated by customers, purchasing, engineering, quality, customer service, and sales teams.
  • Assist Quality Managers in responding to customer complaints, QR's, CAR's, and 8D reports within designated timelines.
  • Review and initiate RMAs, MR's, and Nonconformance Reports using UniPoint.
  • Ensure the implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Oversee proper material dispositions and initiate material review board actions when necessary.
  • Request assistance from Design and Manufacturing Engineering as needed.
  • Guarantee quality standards for incoming, in-process, and outgoing products.
  • Manage the creation and processing of Non-Conformance Reports, including the disposition of nonconforming materials/products/parts and recording costs associated with poor quality via UniPoint.
  • Initiate Quality Warnings/Alerts, Product Deviations, or Waivers, and follow up with customers for acceptance/approval.
  • Conduct required layouts and oversee inspection activities.
  • Administer follow-ups on historical quality issues and notify management of critical problem areas.
  • Initiate CARs and 8Ds with suppliers and ensure their completion.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers for quality capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in Metal Stamping and/or Fabrication is essential.
  • Quality Engineering experience, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), DOE, CAPA, LEAN, 5S, and Six Sigma (6σ).
  • Strong experience interfacing with customers.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, coach, and manage a quality team effectively.
  • Proven experience managing multiple quality engineering projects successfully.
