Position Overview

The Retail Sales Lead oversees store activities, providing guidance and training to utility staff and cashiers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delegate daily tasks to Sales Associates and General Utility Workers, ensuring all preparations are in place for optimal service.
  • Serve as a role model for team members, consistently delivering exceptional customer service and effectively addressing guest concerns.
  • Maintain a professional and energetic environment, even in the absence of management.
Job Duties
  • Perform all duties associated with Sales Associates and General Utility Workers.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to inform the team about daily objectives, special guests, and safety protocols.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for guests regarding local attractions and services.
  • Ensure all guests receive a warm welcome upon entering the store.
  • Train and mentor Sales Associates and General Utility Workers to foster a customer-focused team.
  • Manage store operations smoothly during management's absence, addressing customer relations issues promptly.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identifying out-of-stock items and potential shortages.
  • Order merchandise in appropriate quantities to meet customer demand.
  • Conduct monthly safety inspections and maintain incident reports as necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere throughout the store.
  • Compile daily cash and sales data using Microsoft Excel and various Point of Sale systems.
  • Lead nightly closing procedures, balancing cash with daily sales.
  • Assist in scheduling employees in alignment with labor budgets and assigning tasks accordingly.
  • Support the hiring process for General Utility Workers and Sales Associates.
  • Coordinate payroll for the department, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in retail is preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills for sales reporting and audits.
  • Must be of legal age to handle alcohol.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service is required where applicable.
  • Flexibility to work a rotational schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Fluency in the native language, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to operate various equipment, including POS systems.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Physical Demands

This role may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
