Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) discipline within the designated region.
  • Make strategic staffing decisions and key hires to align with the company's vision and objectives.
  • Ensure the SUE business unit meets performance expectations in the region.
  • Facilitate the recruitment of new talent, retention of high performers, and development of a robust, innovative operations team.
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to formulate and implement a multi-year strategic plan that incorporates diverse stakeholder input.
  • Drive strategic initiatives related to marketing, partnerships, and opportunities that enhance the region's impact and the overall organization.
  • Inspire and lead large teams, both in-person and remotely, while promoting an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Work closely with the executive leadership team to achieve all organizational objectives in the region.
  • Select, train, motivate, and mentor personnel across various levels of the organization.
  • Establish performance metrics and goals, providing support to discipline managers to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Analyze budgetary needs and allocate resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver specialized capabilities in future service offerings and drive market vision.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational metrics and KPIs to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with the executive leadership team to refine organizational structure.
  • Adapt to the company's growth across different segments and geographies, as well as evolving customer demands.
  • Work alongside discipline managers to define optimal performance standards and programs necessary for field success.
  • Streamline and enhance processes within business units for greater efficiency.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years in a Director-level SUE role or equivalent.
  • Hold at least 10 years of experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering, along with a relevant 4-year degree.
  • PE License is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required by project demands.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Readiness to work in various weather conditions, be available on-call, and work extended hours as necessary.
