We are seeking an experienced Education Market Development Representative to join our team at Demco, Inc. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, connecting with key decision-makers, developing sales leads, and transitioning leads to our internal sales team.

About the Role

You will work remotely to drive sales and build relationships with key decision-makers in K-12 schools and public libraries within your territory of Upper New York, Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire. You will also partner with our Inside Sales Specialist for your territory to collaborate on prospecting and networking strategies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify new sales opportunities through research and leveraging industry tools within K-12 school districts and public libraries.
  • Connect with key decision-makers, including Superintendents, Principals, Architects, Designers, Owners Representatives, Library Directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop sales leads by cultivating opportunities for evolving learning environments (furniture, supplies, equipment, etc.) and assessing client requirements.
  • Transition leads to our internal sales team for closing and remain involved by providing support and guidance as needed throughout the project.
  • Attend conferences, conventions, trade shows, and other K-12 events as needed to expand your knowledge and grow your network.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a hunting sales role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong relationships and experience working with K-12 education markets.
  • Familiarity with learning environments, furniture, and supplies.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 and a variable commission plan that pays $25,000 at quota. You will also receive comprehensive benefits and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in education.
