Position Overview

The selected candidate will collaborate with project teams to provide technical insights and support research initiatives focused on technologies for residential and commercial buildings, particularly emphasizing HVAC systems and overall building efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced principles and theories related to energy efficiency, electricity infrastructure technology, and building science, demonstrating expertise in building energy management and analysis.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for environmental testing chambers and related systems, overseeing test system setup, modifications, diagnostics, and performance evaluations.
  • Review and estimate project costs, ensuring compliance with established specifications and schedules while coordinating with various service departments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree, or
  • Doctorate degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in energy efficiency and building science.
  • Experience with mechanical/HVAC equipment and operation of environmental test facilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with energy analysis software and best practices in energy-efficient construction.
  • Proven track record in the energy efficiency sector, collaborating with various stakeholders in the industry.
  • Technical knowledge in building energy systems and appliance efficiency standards.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as LabVIEW, AutoCAD, and Tridium Niagara.
