Warehouse Supervisor II Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Supervisor II to oversee the receipt, stocking, and shipment of merchandise in our distribution centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising employees, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review WMS reports and notify WMS personnel of shutdowns or failures.
  • Utilize Standard Operating Procedures to resolve and correct problems, communicating issues to the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
  • Review reports to determine daily department staffing levels and review staffing plans with the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
  • Develop continuity in the utilization of Labor Transfer pay program.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly staffing reviews with the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
  • Partner with the Training Department to monitor new employee development tracking.
  • Plan daily production goals and utilize the Productivity Improvement Plan process to identify improvement areas.
  • Review quality measurements and report status to the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
  • Maintain employee records on a daily basis and support safety programs to reduce or eliminate employee injuries.
  • Conduct annual employee reviews and merit increase evaluations, interviewing and selecting candidates for employment in partnership with the Human Resources department.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of inventory accounting and knowledge of specific inbound or outbound functions within the distribution center.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated skills necessary to assist employees in conflict resolution and one-to-one communication.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including interviewing skills, and computer skills in warehouse management systems, Word, Excel, and payroll/personnel systems such as KRONOS.
  • Automated distribution center experience preferred, with two or more years of supervisory experience and Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to physically move throughout the distribution center to monitor the flow of merchandise, with exposure to changing climatic conditions, dust, lighting, and noise. Some heavy lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling may be required to assist employees when necessary.
