Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor II is responsible for supervising the receipt, stocking, order filling, and shipment of merchandise in a fast-paced distribution center environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review WMS reports to identify areas for improvement and notify WMS personnel of any issues.
- Utilize Standard Operating Procedures to resolve problems and communicate with Inbound/Outbound Manager.
- Review staffing reports to determine daily department staffing levels and review staffing plan with Inbound/Outbound Manager.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve labor efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct regular staffing reviews with Inbound/Outbound Manager to ensure optimal staffing levels.
- Partner with Training Department to monitor new employee development and tracking.
- Plan daily production goals and identify areas for improvement.
- Review quality measurements and report status to Inbound/Outbound Manager.
- Maintain accurate employee records and support safety programs to reduce employee injuries.
- Conduct annual employee reviews and merit increase evaluations.
- Interview and select candidates for employment in partnership with Human Resources department.
Requirements:
- Understanding of inventory accounting and knowledge of specific inbound or outbound functions within the distribution center.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated skills necessary to assist employees in conflict resolution and one-to-one communication.
- Good oral and written communication skills, including interviewing skills.
- Computer skills: warehouse management systems, Word, Excel, and payroll/personnel systems such as KRONOS.
- Automated distribution center experience preferred, with two or more years of supervisory experience.
Working Conditions:
The Warehouse Supervisor II must be able to physically move throughout the distribution center to monitor the flow of merchandise, with exposure to changing climatic conditions, dust, lighting, and noise. Some heavy lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling may be required to assist employees when necessary.
