POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of the Culinary Preparation Specialist is to oversee the execution of all necessary procedures for daily food preparation. This role involves organizing and maintaining the kitchen environment, ensuring that all batch recipes are executed flawlessly, and effectively communicating with management and fellow cooks. A commitment to excellence in every dish produced, coupled with a positive demeanor, is essential. The Culinary Preparation Specialist will align with company standards by guaranteeing the proper creation and storage of all items, ensuring that each recipe meets the highest quality benchmarks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete and execute the daily kitchen opening duties checklist.
- Ensure the entire required preparation list is fulfilled each day.
- Notify management of low stock levels.
- Monitor waste and implement strategies to reduce loss.
- Guarantee that all items in storage are organized and labeled correctly.
- Manage the receiving and organization of incoming orders.
- Arrive at work prepared and ready to start at the designated shift time.
- Assist the Head Chef with any tasks as requested.
- Uphold the integrity of recipes being prepared.
- Ensure that the presentation of dishes meets established standards.
- Maintain performance standards throughout the shift.
- Keep the kitchen visually appealing and orderly during service.
- Lead the kitchen team in adhering to sanitation and food safety regulations.
- Foster a safe and respectful workplace environment.
- Support the Head Chef by capturing photos for the company’s collection as needed.
- Complete and execute the daily kitchen closing duties checklist.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
- Capability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
- Insight into the flow of food preparation to ensure all tasks are completed.
- Strong attention to detail regarding recipe procedures and food safety practices.
- Proficient cooking and knife skills.
- Possession of a food handler's card.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a prep cook role is necessary.
$15-18 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Participation in the tip pool.
