Forest Management Specialist

This is a leadership position within the Department of Forestry, responsible for overseeing program activities in the Southwest Oregon District. The successful candidate will provide operational oversight and direction, as well as maintain political contacts with local governments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Directly supervise and direct the work of subordinate managers and employees
* Develop and review plans and strategies to accomplish agency goals and objectives
* Oversee the implementation of plans and strategies at the Unit level
Requirements:
* Six years of natural resource experience in areas such as wildland fire suppression, forest management, etc.
* Bachelor's degree in forestry or closely related natural resources field
* Three years of natural resource experience in areas such as wildland fire suppression, or forest management
Preferred Qualifications:
* Skill in oral and written communication
* Strong background in the Fire Protection Program and the Private Forests Program
