Nurse Specialist

As a Nurse Specialist in Labor and Delivery, you will provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. Your expertise will ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions to assess labor progress and respond promptly to complications or changes in condition.
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor and delivery, administering medications and providing emotional support to mothers.
- Educate mothers and families on labor, pain management options, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Perform routine newborn assessments, including Apgar scoring, weight measurement, and initial care.
- Manage emergency situations, such as postpartum hemorrhage or fetal distress, by implementing appropriate interventions and notifying the healthcare team.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of labor and delivery procedures, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to manage emergency situations and provide compassionate care in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse or in a similar role.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
