Job Summary:

Self-Help for the Elderly seeks a skilled Dietitian Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing nutrition programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and certify menus to meet the funder's guidelines and clients' needs.
  • Submit Nutrition Program menus and nutrition analysis to the Department of Disabilities and Aging Services (DAS) of San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties.
  • Conduct kitchen assessments to ensure compliance with DAS, local Health Department, and program standards.
  • Assist with supervising department staff and overseeing operations for compliance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Dietitian license with at least one year of work experience with older adults.
  • Familiarity with Asian dietary culture and knowledge of quality Asian ethnic food planning and quality control.
  • California Food Protection Manager Certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual and bi-literate in English and Cantonese.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Chinese Word Processing, and the internet.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. from floor to waist level and withstand physical activities such as pushing, pulling, stooping, standing, walking, etc.
