Job Summary

The Registered Dietitian (RD) 2 collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to provide specialized nutrition care that is integrated with the overall goals of care for adult and/or pediatric patients at risk for nutrition problems in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation of clinical outcomes
  • Mentorship of other RDs
  • Coordination of daily work for dietetic technicians (DTRs)
  • Leadership in compliance, department projects, and quality performance improvement efforts
  • Active involvement or leadership on interdisciplinary teams and committees
  • Contributions to the supervision of dietetic interns, teaching assigned classes, and development of internship curriculum
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university
  • Successful completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice experience or accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification
  • California Children's Services (CCS) paneled if working in pediatrics or ability to obtain at time of hire
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical dietetics experience beyond completion of clinical training
  • Experience teaching and supervising dietetic interns or other students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work duties and hours and days of work
