We are seeking a Virtual Property Claims Specialist for this remote position.
In this role, you will deliver exceptional property claims service across all regions by managing Property and Inland Marine claims of various complexities. Your responsibilities will include investigating claims, assessing property damages, coordinating with experts and vendors, gathering necessary claim documentation, and ensuring accurate settlements within established authority and performance standards. All duties must comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned property/inland marine claims.
- Assess and resolve property-related damages of varying complexities, including cases with aggregate claim values exceeding $100,000.
- Address typical Business Income losses.
- Support the corporate catastrophe team by assisting with initial contacts, claim triaging, and managing assigned CAT claims.
- Make coverage determinations, negotiate settlements, and manage reserves within established authority.
- Respond to legal, regulatory, or appeals inquiries.
Qualifications:
- A college degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of claims experience, with a strong understanding of Commercial and Personal Lines coverages and proficiency in computer-based damage estimating.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts.
- Proficient in standard business and claims-specific software, with efficient keyboarding skills.
The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $71,000 - $112,000, based on geographic location and representative of salaries for this role across Selective's footprint. Additional factors include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
