Job Description

The Business Systems Engineering Lead will work with Vistex modules, including Commissions, Vendor Rebates, Customer Rebates, Territory Management, and Chargebacks. This role requires experience with Vistex complex custom programming, configuration, and business processes.

You will design, troubleshoot, write, and support ABAP development as required. As a liaison, you will work with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems.

The Software Engineer/Vistex role involves identifying business needs and determining and assessing proposed solutions to business problems. You will analyze the impact of solutions against three variables: System Development, Continuous Improvement, and Data Quality/Integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Participate in and/or drive design efforts focusing on end-to-end process optimization, using standard system functionality whenever possible.
  2. Provide business systems analysis and process redesign expertise, interacting with business partners to clearly define and document business requirements.
  3. Create and maintain functional and technical specifications/documentation for applications required at various phases of the System Development Life Cycle within Solution Manager.
  4. Participate in and/or drive system configuration and development that meet security, architecture, and support requirements, all while satisfying business needs.
  5. Understand systemic data requirements as they relate to improving/changing the business process or system.
  6. Participate and/or coordinate required testing/validation of system enhancements and fixes, creating and/or executing test cases including problem determination and resolution.
  7. Collaborate with business partners regarding deployment needs, training, communications, change management, and implementation of the application change.
  8. Apply project management standards ensuring issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner; communicates status and escalates open/unresolved issues, when necessary, in Service Now and JIRA.
  9. Participate in system emergency or crisis situations to define/implement workaround processes, corrective action, communication, and system cleanup activities.
  10. Stay current with changing needs of the business and technology advancements in the marketplace that may drive improved business operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of configuration and/or development experience in a broad range of hardware and software products.
  • Expert ability to design, develop, test, and deploy applications/systems using proven or technologies within a variety of technologies and environments.
  • Expert knowledge of multiple programming languages and techniques.
  • Exercises independent judgment in guidance for alternative solutions and application of key technologies.
  • Strong usage of conceptual thinking to understand advanced business challenges and implications.
  • Embeds data analytics capabilities and understanding of key business data models, contributes to cross-functional data asset solutions or can be a key expert representing the domain in data discussions.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with architects to design the best solutions.
