Position Overview:
The Healthcare Customer Service Specialist provides essential administrative support to facilitate the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a welcoming point of contact - greet and assist patients or visitors, including processing payments and co-payments.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, ordering supplies, generating no-show and recall notifications, sorting mail, and preparing end-of-day reports. Document patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) as necessary.
- Manage patient registration and check-in processes: verify patient demographics and insurance details; assist with kiosk registration. Oversee patient check-out: schedule follow-up appointments or confirm future visits.
- Maintain patient medical records in accordance with established standards; upload documents into the electronic system. Responsible for basic electronic medical record (EMR) scanning.
- Engage in safety initiatives and risk management practices as appropriate, completing all required safety competencies and training in a timely manner.
