Key Responsibilities:

As a BIM Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Creating detailed models, including coordination, shop drawings, and as-builts.
  • Assisting in system design, modeling all content, and coordinating with other trades.
  • Preparing sketches that illustrate the placement of wiring and equipment according to job specifications.
  • Applying knowledge of National Electrical Codes in your work.
  • Interpreting contract documents to understand the scope of work.
  • Reading one-lines, panel schedules, and executing 3D modeling accordingly.
  • Collaborating with site foremen to ensure clarity in the construction of modeled work.
  • Reviewing construction drawings for conflicts with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire alarm, and structural documents, ensuring compliance with local codes.
  • Working closely with the project management team to resolve issues identified during the review process.
  • Coordinating draft construction drawings with other trades to ensure clear routings and avoid obstructions.
  • Conducting site surveys and field measurements to support conceptual and design efforts.
  • Reviewing submittal documents for accuracy.
  • Maintaining logs for RFIs, transmittals, and drawings as necessary.
  • Identifying and resolving issues with clients, architects, engineers, building owners, and vendors regarding construction drawings.
  • Utilizing point cloud files and survey points to provide accurate as-built conditions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED; an Associate's Degree or higher is preferred.
  • Experience as a BIM Coordinator, Detailer, or Modeler is required.
  • Proficiency in MEP REVIT and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and apply job-related concepts and technologies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to recognize errors promptly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with general construction practices and electrical components.
  • Problem-solving skills are essential.

Work Schedule:

  • Standard 40-hour workweek with opportunities for overtime.

Language Proficiency:

  • English is required; Spanish is desired but not mandatory.
