Job Summary

We are looking for a Geologist with expertise in hydrogeological interpretation and data management to provide critical support to our wellfield operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reporting wellfield data, assisting with external notifications and reporting to regulators, and contributing to resource development planning and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming testing and completion data from the commercial wellfield, including data from contractors and consultants.
  • Process and present wellfield testing and completion data to internal and external customers.
  • Assist with external notifications and reporting to regulators, including data interpretation and figure preparation.
  • Contribute to resource development planning, performance, and well designs.
  • Lead efforts to optimize the overall geological interpretation of the Florence Copper deposit.
  • Maintain data management systems for compliance-related well reports, notifications, and other reports as required.

Requirements

  • Experience with geophysical logging, sampling, and analysis is required.
  • Must be experienced with well construction, well and aquifer testing, and well rehabilitation.
  • Database/data logger experience is required.
  • Experience with mine water management modeling software, aquifer testing software, hydrogeological groundwater flow models, and data management systems is preferred.
  • General project management experience is preferred.
  • Some familiarity with aquifer-related regulations is preferred.
  • Arc-GIS software and mapping experience is required.
  • Must be able to effectively manage time, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, technical report writing experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrology, or related field is required.

Work Environment

This position will include some office work, but a significant amount will be performed in all-weather conditions outdoors. The employee will report to the site on a routine Monday through Friday schedule. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds. The employee must work in compliance with the Florence Copper's site safety program.
