Job Summary

The Medical Assistant 1 (U) plays a vital role in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
  • Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist in patient care activities such as dressing changes and leg wraps.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Assist with physical examinations by preparing supplies and handing instruments and materials to the doctor as directed.
  • Provide patients with basic instruction and information regarding examination procedures.
  • Clean and sterilize medical instruments while observing principles of sterile technique.
  • Schedule patients for tests and complete required forms for laboratory work.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records and documentation.
  • Order, stock, and inventory supplies, and assist in performing clerical duties.
  • Escort and transport patients to various hospital locations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
