Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist 1 to join our team at the University of Miami. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing and analyzing routine blood, urinalysis, and coagulation procedures, as well as reviewing the results of complex scientific tests on blood and bodily fluids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare cultures of tissue samples and establish and monitor programs that ensure data accuracy.
  • Examine slides of bodily fluids using a microscope or other relevant equipment and crossmatch blood for transfusions.
  • Analyze urine chemically to identify toxic components and collect and study blood samples to determine morphology.
  • Evaluate laboratory reports for accuracy and operate, calibrate, and safeguard laboratory equipment.
  • Deliver test results to physicians, researchers, and patients and identify unusual results and take appropriate action to make corrections and solve problems.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field and certification in a relevant specialty or field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience and a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain accurate records and reports.
