Job Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist plays a vital role in the Neurodiagnostic Services team, performing routine and complex EEGs, Video EEG in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Long Term (EEG) monitoring, Evoked Potentials (EPs), and other specialized procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

These tests record the electrical activity in the brain and nervous system, providing valuable information for diagnosing and treating neurological conditions/disorders such as headaches, seizures, strokes, and degenerative brain disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform EEGs, Video EEG, and other neurodiagnostic procedures in various settings
  • Ensure electrode and technical integrity and quality of all neurodiagnostic procedures
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary health provider teams to provide high-quality patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family, caregivers, physicians, and clinical staff
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical terminology, computer skills, and equipment
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Graduate from an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics or a combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated competency in performing EEGs and other neurodiagnostic modalities
  • Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist
  • Prior experience working in an academic medical center environment, working on complex cases
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Experience with computerized medical equipment
