The Neurodiagnostic Technologist will play a vital role in the Neurodiagnostic Services team by performing routine and complex EEGs, Video EEG in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Long Term (EEG) monitoring, Evoked Potentials (EPs), and other specialized procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The successful candidate will ensure electrode and technical integrity and quality of all Neurodiagnostic procedures performed, providing accurate results that enable physicians to diagnose and treat neurological conditions/disorders such as headaches, seizures, strokes, and degenerative brain disease.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex EEGs, Video EEG in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Long Term (EEG) monitoring, Evoked Potentials (EPs), and other specialized procedures
- Ensure electrode and technical integrity and quality of all Neurodiagnostic procedures performed
- Provide accurate results that enable physicians to diagnose and treat neurological conditions/disorders
- High school graduate or GED
- Graduate from an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics or a combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated competency in performing EEGs as well as in one or more modalities such as EP, LTM, EMU, etc.
- Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Possession of good interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, family, caregivers, physicians, and clinical staff
- Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, and online communication
- Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiation skills
- Ability to work variable shifts
- Demonstrates ability to be an independent, motivated self-starter
