Overview:
Signature Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Practical Nursing Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient patient care and support within our healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate patient movement by guiding individuals from waiting areas to examination rooms, ensuring optimal patient flow and minimizing wait times.
  • Prepare patients for their appointments, including obtaining vital signs and documenting visit reasons based on patient feedback.
  • Assess patient conditions and communicate urgent needs to the medical team.
  • Provide education to patients regarding health maintenance and illness prevention within nursing practice standards.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and assist in medical procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Collect and process specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and assist with patient care activities related to referrals and diagnostics.
  • Manage patient communications regarding prescriptions and lab results under the guidance of healthcare providers.
  • Ensure cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms and medical equipment, adhering to established protocols.
  • Review medical records for necessary information to support patient visits and assist in the coordination of nursing staff deployment.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and understand the legal implications of privacy violations.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers, including wound care and patient education.
  • Engage in continuous education to maintain nursing competencies and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the practice.
  • Demonstrate respect and professionalism towards patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a culturally sensitive environment.
  • Support the Patient-Centered Medical Home model by promoting accessible and coordinated primary care.
  • Adhere to the regulations governing Licensed Practical Nurse practice and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Licensure: Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and BLS certification.

Preferred Experience:
  • One to two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Familiarity with Meditech software is advantageous.
