About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Construction Manager to oversee all on-site construction activities for our projects throughout the nation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing laborers, operators, schedule, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure the project is completed within timelines and budget, with adherence to our company's quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Safety: Ensure that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by our corporate safety manual, safety plan, client requirements, or any other authorities.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate job personnel and materials, equipment, and all work activities to successfully complete tasks and projects on schedule.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that projects are constructed according to approved plans, specifications, and applicable policies and procedures, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor the crew, promoting our company's safety culture, goals, and objectives.
  • Talent Acquisition: Recruit and hire qualified individuals to maintain high-performing teams.
  • Financial Management: Review crew timesheets, manage the accurate reporting of labor and equipment hours, work within project budgets, and schedules to achieve success.
  • Documentation: Complete and oversee all daily work documentation and other paperwork required, submitting on a timely basis.
  • Communication: Conduct pre and post-shift toolbox meetings to clearly communicate daily work scope and project goals to the crew.
  • Equipment Operation: Ensure equipment operation is performed safely and within company, client, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolve plan and specification discrepancies with the project team.
Requirements
  • 8 years' experience in heavy civil and/or geotechnical construction required.
  • 5 years' experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil and/or geotechnical construction required.
  • Extensive experience in geotechnical construction methods, including soil nails, ground anchors, micro piles, compaction, and permeation grouting, and other shoring and ground improvement techniques preferred.
  • Solid understanding of modern construction practices and equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, technical specifications, and survey.
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience.
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders.
  • Capable of identifying key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations and spotting new, less obvious solutions.
  • Ability to travel extensively to different job sites throughout the United States.
