Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
  • Participate in the training of new employees and ensure quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
  • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
  • Operate pharmacy equipment appropriately and ensure adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
  • Triage and escalate any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed.
  • Use appropriate systems for processing of patient information.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 6 months minimum relevant experience required
  • Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required
  • CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
Working Conditions

Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.
