Job Title: Overnight Veterinary Technician - ER/ICU

Join Ethos Veterinary Health, a leading provider of specialty and 24-hour emergency veterinary services, as an Overnight Veterinary Technician in our ER/ICU department.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team. As an Overnight Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our emergency and critical care patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Triage phone calls and walk-ins, reviewing medical records as necessary to assist in those triages
  • Perform patient restraint for examinations and procedures
  • Understand various illnesses and their treatment
  • Acquire, prepare, and ship laboratory specimens, as well as run automated CBCs and other laboratory tests
  • Provide general nursing care, including vital sign assessment and administration of medications
  • Perform general reception duties, such as checking clients in and out, cleaning exam rooms, and collecting deposits/payments
  • Perform venipuncture, peripheral/central/arterial catheter placement and maintenance, and other emergency procedures under veterinary supervision
  • Assist with admitting and discharging patients, client communication and education, and answering phone calls and scheduling appointments
  • Clean, stock, and maintain ICU/Isolation equipment and supplies
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology
  • Ability to handle, lift, and restrain animals (dogs, cats) and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform veterinary medical procedures, including CPR, blood draws, medication administration, and patient assessment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other technicians and doctors regarding patient needs
  • Current certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or Provisional Veterinary Technician (PVT)
  • Two years of recent experience in ER/CC is preferred
