Job Summary
The City of Atlanta seeks a highly skilled Plan Review Specialist, Sr. to join our team in the Office of Buildings. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing construction plans to ensure compliance with regulatory codes, ordinances, and laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough plan reviews to verify code compliance for commercial structures, including Life Safety 101 and ADA requirements.
- Provide code interpretation and assistance to contractors, engineers, and the general public.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to acquire information necessary to assess building compliance with requirements.
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and job practices to ensure efficient plan review processes.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, inspectors, contractors, and the public to resolve code-related issues.
Requirements
- Considerable knowledge of Life Safety codes, ADA, and IBC fire requirements.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply code regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under a minimum degree of stress related to duties that require constant attention to detail and tight deadlines.
Working Conditions
