Job Summary

The City of Atlanta is seeking a highly skilled Plan Review Specialist, Sr. to join our team. As a key member of our Fire Protection Division, you will be responsible for reviewing construction plans to ensure compliance with regulatory codes, ordinances, and laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Approving fire sprinkler plans and specifications
  • Assisting fire sprinkler C of Cs and sprinkler installers with NFPA code conformation
  • Answering inquiries regarding construction materials and procedures
  • Explaining departmental procedures
  • Processing paperwork
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of fire protection systems, including hydraulics, hazard evaluation, detection systems, and NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D installations requirements. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and the general public.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working independently or in teams, reporting to the Assistant Director. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a high volume of fire sprinkler installers and customers.
