About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to join our team at Scout Motors. As a key member of our supply chain operations, you will be responsible for managing the material planning and control operations for the NAR Region, including just-in-time suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a Strong Supply Chain: Collaborate with new suppliers to establish a robust supply chain, ensuring sufficient material supply at our plant in South Carolina.
  • Define Planning Concepts and Projects: Develop planning concepts and projects related to the establishment of the material planning and control department responsible for the NAR Region, including just-in-sequence supply.
  • Support Suppliers: Work closely with suppliers to define necessary processes, including transportation, infrastructure, packaging, scheduling, and equipment, to ensure a cost-optimal and reliable supply chain.
  • Contribute to Forward Sourcing and Global Sourcing: Participate in forward sourcing and global sourcing processes, including the preparation of logistics audits and ensuring logistics standards meet Scout's expectations.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing Department: Establish cross-departmental procedures to ensure parts supply on time, based on supplier production capacity and production demand, considering quality requirements.
  • Identify and Mitigate Risks: Early identification of potential risks in production or supply chain, active development and cross-departmental alignment of countermeasures.
  • Establish Emergency Procedures: Plan and agree with internal and external stakeholders on emergency procedures for quick communication and decision-making in case of material shortages.
  • Nurture Supplier Relationships: Foster ongoing, constructive, and cooperative communication with suppliers to ensure planned production volumes and ramp-up curve.
  • Establish Material Flow Processes: Develop material flow processes and networks utilizing group synergies in the NAR region.
  • Support Personnel Development: Support the recruiting and qualification of own personnel to meet project production milestones.
  • Responsible Leadership: Carry out this role responsibly, in factual cooperative collaboration with supervisors, employees, involved, and affected departments, in compliance with existing guidelines, standards, and regulations.
  • Process Control and Improvement: Support own process control through planning and implementing KPIs with clear responsibility distribution, coordinate problem-solving activity in case of deviation from defined targets.
  • Budget Management: Analyze and authorize the department budget, assure its fulfillment, and develop countermeasures to compensate deviations observed by optimizing or reassigning technical and human resources.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as leadership in logistics or production environment in the automotive industry (e.g., inbound/outbound logistics, supplier management, container management, JIT/JIS).
  • Automotive Logistics Experience: Experience in automotive logistics supplier management desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or related fields.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, and software systems, as well as process design.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
