**Job Summary:**

At Medicine Journal, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our Ambulatory Department team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient and customer service, ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Assist with greeting patients and the public, answering and screening telephone calls, and making daily patient reminder calls.
  • Schedule patient appointments, check patients in and out, and obtain accurate patient demographic information.
  • Prepare medical records, perform order entry, and serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff.
  • Filing, balancing charges and collections, making daily deposits, and accounts receivable, billing, and insurance functions.
  • Perform general office duties such as data entry and office and medical supply ordering.
  • Assist with reports, JCAHO/DNV requirements, chart audits, and other duties as directed.

**Requirements:**

  • High School education or its equivalent in education achievement.
  • Must be able to work well with others, have a poised, courteous, and pleasing personality, and a good telephone voice.
  • Clerical experience and/or hospital experience is desirable.
  • Prior EMR experience is desirable.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Medical terminology course desired.
  • Training for computer competency.
