THE OPPORTUNITY

The role of Cloud Operations Lead is pivotal in overseeing cloud operations, enhancing developer experiences, and managing data infrastructure at Lingo.

This position is responsible for delivering a wide array of operational services, including:

  • Monitoring system performance and application availability.
  • Resolving incidents at levels 1 and 2, ensuring robust backup and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Collaborating with development teams during product releases to provide essential support.
  • Partnering with engineering teams to drive operational enhancements in cloud infrastructure.
  • Establishing best practices for utilizing cloud data services, including SQL, NoSQL, Data Lakes, and Blob Storage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D Software Engineering to implement comprehensive monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities for web and mobile applications.
  • Work alongside cybersecurity teams to ensure the continuous fortification of cloud infrastructure.
  • Lead the cloud operations team, maintaining current technical expertise to meet evolving demands.
  • Define and enforce best practices for deploying data infrastructure in Azure Cloud.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
  • Foster relationships with key cloud technology suppliers to stay informed about emerging trends and ensure solution stability.
  • Monitor service levels and customer satisfaction, addressing issues promptly.
  • Assess and enhance standards and methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage a 24/7 monitoring and support strategy for cloud and DevOps infrastructure.
  • Oversee all aspects of the cloud environment, including provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and security.
  • Create and document technical designs for the integration and implementation of new cloud applications and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Science discipline.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in cloud operations and DevOps.
  • Proven experience in establishing robust observability and monitoring systems.
  • Expertise in setting up teams for continuous coverage.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI and PHI.
  • Experience managing SLAs, operational KPIs, and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs.
  • Deep knowledge of the latest cloud technologies and trends.
  • Ability to make informed architectural decisions at both team and production levels.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple organizations and business units.
  • Extensive understanding of application development, cybersecurity, and cloud deployment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of cloud security and identity management services.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or similar technical fields.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic, Sentry, and Pager Duty.
