Sr Manager IT Infrastructure Transformation Lead

Penumbra is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Manager IT Infrastructure Transformation Lead to lead our IT infrastructure team in Alameda, CA. This role will oversee the implementation and management of our hybrid infrastructure environment, spanning campus networking, on-premises data centers, private and public cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading global infrastructure engineering teams, managing both people and technology.


  • Develop a high-performance team to support and enhance IT Infrastructure and Operations Services with clear and concise goals and objectives.
  • Maintain 3-year infrastructure plan supporting current technologies while remaining current on upcoming technologies and trends to prepare the organization for future upgrades.
  • Engage the applications and business teams to understand upcoming projects and coordinate infrastructure activities to support effective delivery and timeliness of the associated solutions.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure services policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Develop, monitor, report on and assess Enterprise system and network platforms, programs, and services, including the development of a forecast for capacity and consolidation/cost reduction opportunities.

Key Responsibilities include managing the security of the core infrastructure, including Network, systems and databases and cloud applications technical components, building tools for IT Operations to enhance production triage and improve time to detect issues, and establishing enterprise level monitoring and visibility platform to proactively identify and remediate the performance and capacity issues and reduce the MTTR.


This role requires a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows, Linux, Azure, and VMware, as well as experience in managing cloud infrastructure and security with an Architect level certification, and experience in implementing Infrastructure as a Code, Configuration management, DevOps and other automation. The ideal candidate will also have experience in compliance practices such as SOX, SOC2, ISO27000 etc. and proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, problems, and issues.


The estimated salary for this role is $184,060/year - $225,000/year, based on the location and experience required.
