Job Summary and Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
To deliver professional nursing care to patients by utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with other healthcare team members, including physicians, to ensure quality health care.
What you will do in this role:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
PREFERRED
- CCRN preferred
- PALS preferred
- TNCC preferred
REQUIRED (Certifications must be kept current)
- RN licensure in Texas or a compact state.
BCLS
- ACLS upon hire or transfer into the unit (Exception: GN must obtain within six months from date of hire or transfer into the unit.)
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum College: Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in reading and writing Basic English with the necessary skills to transcribe physician's orders.
- Knowledge of body substance isolation.
- Ability to listen, empathize, and respond to the needs of patients, families, and internal and external partners.
- Experience in Acute Care.
- Spanish language skills.
