Job Title: Senior Commercial Development Manager

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Development Manager to lead our efforts in acquiring new renewable and non-emitting resources. With our rapidly growing energy efficiency programs, we're building a future that's innovative and exciting.

Job Summary

This is a key role in our Energy Resource Development team, responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of resource acquisitions. You'll develop and implement strategies for presenting to senior management, manage project plans across multi-disciplinary teams, and conduct business and financial analyses to evaluate potential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for resource acquisitions, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, energy storage, and other dispatchable resources.
  • Lead project plans across multi-disciplinary teams, creating and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and action items.
  • Conduct business and financial analyses to evaluate potential projects, considering PSE's current position and how to maximize the value of current energy resource assets.
  • Lead external representative(s) on assigned projects, identifying, negotiating, and managing partner relationships and commercial contracts.
  • Collaborate with long-term resource and planning groups to review asset acquisitions, using analytic techniques such as net present value, discounted cash flow, and portfolio optimization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, business administration, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • 5 years relevant work experience, including 3 years asset development and acquisition experience.
  • Experience in the utility, oil, gas, or independent power sector, with experience in project development or commercial acquisitions.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, processes, and techniques applied in a utility setting.
