We are seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team at Oak Street Health. As a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting our providers with clinical tasks.

About the Role

  • Rooming patients in a timely manner and assisting the provider with staying on schedule.
  • Delivering an exceptional patient experience and helping patients prepare for their provider visit.
  • Obtaining vital signs, chief complaint, and reviewing medications.
  • Delivering patient screenings per protocols.
  • Orders supplies and stocks exam rooms.
  • Conducts routine quality control checks, including infection control measures, equipment QAs, and checks for expired medication and supplies.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for patient visits.
  • Under direction of an RN, provider and/or protocol, provides telephonic support to patients.

Requirements

  • CPR Certification required.
  • Medical Assistant certification or registration.
  • 3-5 years in a Medical Assistant role preferred.
  • EMR experience required.
  • 2 or more years of experience working with geriatric patients.
  • Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills, accountability, and a flexible, positive attitude.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve (where necessary).
  • US work authorization.
  • Someone who embodies being 'Oaky'.
