Position Summary
The Automation Engineer will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be tasked with overseeing the manufacturing processes across various facilities. This role involves leading a team of Group Managers to ensure that production activities align with corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
In the absence of a Group Manager, the Automation Engineer will assume additional responsibilities and serve as a liaison to the Plant Manager regarding operational group activities.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues to support daily production schedules.
- Modifying robot programs as necessary to accommodate changes in components and manufacturing needs.
- Demonstrating effective project management skills to successfully execute large-scale capital projects.
- Providing training and guidance to team members on robot setups and troubleshooting.
- Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel, including the Plant Manager and Production Manager.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across various organizational levels.
- Comprehensive understanding of the corporate Mission Statement, goals, and KPI's.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and automation standards.
- Experience in robot setup and programming.
- Ability to effectively manage time and resources.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in Power Controls, Automation, or Robotics Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Proficiency in configuring robots and their I/O systems.
- Familiarity with integrating safety devices into robot programming.
- Understanding of production processes and materials.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies.
